January 30, 2018. Tuesday. We had another beautiful day in Fredericksburg. We decided to do a wine tasting this morning. The lady serving us was so friendly and helpful. She even managed to find a wine that Pops liked.  All of the wines were Texas wines, of course, and we tried quite a variety of them. We happily left with 4 bottles and may go back again to stock up before leaving here.🍷

Yesterday we ate a very healthy lunch and paid over $35 for the two of us for just a half sandwich and a cup of soup to share.  It was delicious but expensive. Today we ate at a food truck and paid $11. It was delicious as well. No big overhead, I guess. Anyway, it is fun finding new places and we really enjoy it.

After lunch we returned to Ladybird Johnson Park and hiked another part of the Nature Trail.

January 29, Monday.   We are settled into the Quiet Creek RV Park in Fredericksburg, Tx.  We had lunch at the Woolen Warehouse today. Healthy (huge) sandwiches and delicious soup.

After lunch we got back into our hiking routine.  We walked for 2 miles at the Ladybird Johnson Park.  It is a nice place with well-maintained trails.  I imagine that in the summer it is really beautiful. They have a butterfly garden and a birdwatching station as well as a small stream that runs through it. The weather is warm and sunny, which is what we were hoping to find here.

January 22, 2018  Monday

We are finally on the road again.  We got out just ahead of a snowstorm.  As usual we stopped at Twin Fountains RV Park in OKC. We love this park. Recently they have opened the Semper Fi Bar and Grill. It is a really nice little place with a sweet little bartender, Emily, who is from West Virginia.  Her accent is entertainment by itself. We stayed an extra day there because our furnace had quit in the night and we had to get it fixed.

January 25, Thursday.  We arrived in Glen Rose, Texas at the Oakdale RV Park.  It is a very old campground, but well maintained and cute. This week they were hosting a rally for Women on the Fly.  This is a group of about 50 women who camp and travel together.  Their campers were all decorated and the ladies were really having fun!
