Wed. Jan 25 Fredericksburg, Tx. We enjoyed some family time, in the Austin area, with JR, Shari, Brenna and Clint. We laughed a lot and ate too well (Shari's cooking never disappoints). Clint took us to an authentic Austin food truck for supper one night (food trucks are everywhere in Austin).
Also spent a little time in Brenna's bar, Indian Roller. It was really nice to spend some extended time with all of them. Usually it is a holiday rush trip. Their house in Dripping Springs is perfect, close to the city but not too close.
We took a little side trip to Pedernales Falls State Park. This was a very peaceful place . I imagine that it is even prettier in the Spring.
Arrived in Fredricksburg on Monday afternoon. After we got settled we went into town and wandered through some shops and then ate supper at a German place.
Tuesday we decided to get back to hiking. It was 85 degrees and beautiful, so we headed for Enchanted Rock State Park. Interesting place. We couldn't do the Summit Trail because of Jax, so we walked the Loop Trail. After not having walked a lot for the last month, we discovered that we need to get back in shape! 2 miles of rocky trail just about wore us out .😟
We left the state park and headed north to Llano for lunch. Had a great lunch at Cooper's Old Time Pit BBQ. Llano is a cute little town with funky little shops and a good coffe shop called Fuel.
